Do you have billet input, output or intermediate shafts, or a combination of the three. Assumming you have a input and output shaft I would say no more then 20psi. Probably could handle more but I prefer to be on the safe side.

Is it better in lock up or in coupling too? I want to build my tranny but it's expensive!

With an aftermarket transmission or even just an upgraded TC+VB you will notice a huge difference in both especially lockup.

With a 1psi launch you will beat most of your manual tranny buddies off the line and then when they make their first shift you will gain another length on them. And then around 45mph, they will start to gain on you if they have more HP but by then, the race is over!

So is the life of a manual tranny hotrod, good for towin and that's about it!

Power brake it.... step on brakes and go pedal till you get your desired boost level and then let off the brakes. Some guys leave the line with 20-25 psi boost. They have billet internal shafts, input, and output to handle all the stress. Stock parts have exploded/ shafts broken at 7 psi boosted launch. Boosted 4wd launches is why a diesel is hard to beat in a street race. Quick 60 foot times!

Iroc i have a billet input thats it. Im with you i want to be on the safe side because this was quite an investment!! i was thinkin that around 10-15psi but i was making sure that it would be ok to start like that.

I know its hard to beat an auto HAHA my truck shifts hard and so fast now it amazes me what a difference it is i love it!! i still have to get the smarty and the drag version of my comp then the turbo so it is only gonna get better!!!

Disadvantage to adding a new toy.....Diesel is $3.29!!!

i have launched 15 in 4x4, i wouldnt try it in 2wd,

i have similar mods without the sticks, and

in 2wd the rear axle will be the first to go with billets.

When racin i leave the line at 25-30 lbs boost, but without billet input and output shafts i wouldnt. Off the line youll bust the stock output shaft at around 25 psi. Maybe not the first time you do it but eventually it will happen. I have a friend that just busted his billet input on a lock to lock shift, so anything is brone to breaking if the scenario is right.

Well i have turn the comp to 5x5 but i havent done a boost lauch yet..hunstville cops...but as soon as i go to the country to go hunting this weekend im gonna put it in 4x4 and do a few lauches and see just what it can do.

I have had a friend break the clamps on the drive shaft to the rear axle during a 10psi lauch. He does have a 6spd 2wd but this shouldnt happen to me if its 4x4 should it? is there a preventative measure i can take to insure this doesnt happen? what have yall experienced?

Thanks
Asa
