what im thinking about doin

new member here
my neighbors have a 1996 12v im thinking about buying. from what iv read heres what i plan on doing to it

fix the kdp
get gauges
get trans done pretty good
turn start wheel up, grind the fuel plate and pull forward all the way
block off wastegate
lock up switch

how do u think this set up will run in the quarter?

then over summer, stud the heads, do injectors then a turbo.
whats your alls thoughts? thanks

Sounds pretty good, but if you get the tranny done before you mess with the plate, then go ahead and grind it to a 0, and then put a 4k GSK in it. You should be in the 15's with that and a good tranny. Be sure and go with good parts from a reputable company for your tranny. Dont let a gasser tranny shop fool with it unless you know for sure they will use quality stuff. But you have a good plan so far. Also, advance the timing pretty soon after you get it. It will lower EGT's and help fuel mileage

Go ahead and beef up the tranny. I have learned the hard way about the KDP and fixing the tranny. Like the person before me said, grind it to a 0. They're a lot easier to make than a 10 or a 100. Do a GSK mod, it'll be the best mod you can do. Delivery valves would be a good investment too if you're going for some power.
