hello. a friend just got a 01 and i'm wondering what we can do for more power/sound on the low cost side. read a little about the silencer ring. couldn't find a how-to though. what effects the warranty, everything? trying to talk him into losing the exhaust. are there any adjustments on the pump like mine or is all that compruter controlled? can anything be done with the wastegate? any info is good info. thanks

 

If you are trying so hard to do this "on the cheap", I would just leave it alone. When you save enough for a air filter assy, fueling box, ect then add one.

 

Unfortunately there are no plates to slide or screws to turn on the ISBs... everything has to increased with computer boxes. He can saw off the muffler and put in a K&N/AFE in the stock airbox, but any more than that is going to require at least a few hundred bucks. The cheapest mod is probably the EZ style box or a set of small injectors. Either can be found used for around $300.
