VP44 Question

the ole vp is givin up on me, and i just got payed and need to order one. i was thinking about going with an hrvp. i dont know how this will effect daily driving, and i had mentioned in an earlier post that ill be towing with my truck when i head back to texas in 2009. i only do "LITE" right now usually in the 5000-10000 range. the $1800 is kindof steep for me. my other option is to go with a regular VP, and get an edge comp to put on. do any of yall have any opinions, expierence for me on this. i can handle the 1800 barely, but if the normal VP will work fine, id like to get it, and the extra money can go to a fuel press guage, and comp.
thanks

I would go with a Standard SO pump and maybe get some injectors or a smarty if you wanted to keep your pump under warranty, or just get an SO pump and a drag comp and tap the wire, with a fuel pressure gauge

What is an HRVP, & is it a solid product, or should one just replace with the stock VP?

It's a modified vp44 from Industrial Injection that's suppose to add 80hp or so, that cost $1800ish so their like $700 more than a SO pump, but i would rather put that $700 towards some nice EDM injectors

SO VP44, gauges, Edge Comp box. The last I heard, Rip at sourceautomotive sells SO pumps with a warranty that will allow you to tap the pump wire.

I would stick with a regular SO pump as well. Put the extra cash into a set of guages or transmission upgrades.

I already have some nice DonM injectors that I like. I don't mind spending the extra money for the HRVP, if it is worth it. Is it worth it? I already have guages & such. I feel like my VP could go at any time. My LP died about 2 months ago. I was glad I keep a spare as the 4601HP, is a little better,IMO than the stock 4601,plus I have 1/2 inch fuel lines from the LP to the VP, eliminating the restrictive small fuel lines. With all that said, I have about 3 to 3.5 years on my current VP. I have been running a lot of burnt motor oil & 2 stroke thru the last year, & hopefully this may have saved my VP from failing so far. I want to go ahead & get me a VP, so I can change it out when necessary, without having to wait to go get one or order one.
Is the HRVP worth the extra Dough, & does it hold up any better than a SOVP? Thanks for the info.

you would be happier with a bigger set of EDM injectors and a SO pump, better mialage and Idle. Also in the end in MAX hp a HRVP will not make anymore than a SO pump

I don't know about bigger EDM's. My truck didn't like them. That is why I have some EDM'd RV 275's. They work great. I tried the 1.5's & some custom 1.75's, & we just couldn't get my truck to quit acting stupid with them, so Don Edm'd me some RV 275's to just ove 90 HP injectors & they just work like a charm. I think based on what you have said, I will save my money & stick with the SO VP. Does Piers still make their high HP VP? Thanks

How about the FASS system...that's supposed to work well with the trucks equipped with vp44?

Is the Edge Comp similar to the Edge juice w/attitude? What is the 'SO' pump and EDM injectors (if it's a brand where do you get those)...

newbie here; lookin for some advice on making more reliable, fuel efficient, and only mild power improvments for daily driven truck
