Various Delivery Valve Results in 160pump?

Would you notice much difference in power from going 181's to 191's or to 022's or to Laser Cuts?

I have 181's now and am looking for a little bump in lowend/midrange power. Would larger DV's do this or just add smoke and EGT's?

No, I don't think you are going to see any difference between 181's and 191's on a 160 pump with 300 hp injectors and probably not much difference in smoke or egt........if you were to run a much higher flowing injector you may be able to justify the 191 dv's over the 181's........if you don't tow heavy, I would consider advancing the timing to 18 degrees and possibly pulling that #100 plate back a bit........I noticed my #100 only added more egt but no more power when it was full forward.........do you have the lightest AFC spring installed? -if you don't, that could give you a little more response on the low end.........I have no experience with 181 dv's in a 160 pump but I can confirm that 191's gave such a huge increase in bottom end in my 94 that it did not appear to lose power down low no matter how far the timing was advanced.......

A great combo in the 160 pump is 370 injectors, 191 DV's and a #10 plate and 4,000 RPM kit and 160# valve springs, I suggest 16.5*-17* advance. If you get a larger turbo in the furture then go to 18* advance. I am not sure where your #100 plate fits in the standard TST plate system. The 191's will add to the lower end but without the 370's you won't get the full advantage, but you could do the DV's, first and then the injectors when you want the full power available.

191's will give you that little bump you are looking for. They will add a bit of smoke and increase your WOT EGTs a little bit. I ran them for a while after taking out my 181's. Not that I am running bigger injectors I went back to the 181's.

What would 181 D.V's do to my truck power/EGT wise. My EGT's are high right now(1450-1500 after WOT for a minute), but i think its because my plate fuels so hard on the top end. What kind of power/EGT's do you guys think i would have if i switched to a #10 plate, and 181 D.V.'s? Id like a little more power, but my EGT's are bad enough as it is; but if a #10 would help EGT's a lot, then i would like D.V.'s to if i could get away with them. OR, do you guys think i would be better off with 215 injectors EGT wise? What would they do for my power? How much more power do you guys the the 181's would give my truck, or should i go with 191 if i get them? Thanks

Eric

JR Adkins has the best price on DV's. He offers Laser Cut's on an exchange basis, and I've heard of great success with his.

Dodgeman01 on here is running a set, and he swears up and down he gained 90HP from them. I don't think he got quite that much, but Aaron will swear up and down till the cows come home he did!

He did say it gave his 94 5spd a MAJOR kick in the butt though!
