yes--the stock airbox is the big restriction in the setup. If you want to move more air you HAVE to get rid of the stock airbox. Go with a Scotty or AFE. These will be your best bet!

VanAakenC5

I am currently testing the new C5 Van Aaken box which is a 200 hp box. I have a 04 HO automatic 4x4. All that has been done to my truck is a 4" exhaust and airraid intake system. I have taken the truck to the track and it has run a best of 14.32 at 98.5 mph. My best friend has a 03 automatic 2wd and is also testing the C5 unit and his truck has run a 14.22 at 99.6 mph. His truck has the same mods as mine. We have not had any transmission problems so far. His truck has 148 thousand and mine has 72 thousand on it.
I tow his truck to the race track which is about 120 miles each direction and am doing it on the 100hp setting and not having high egt's. Both trucks previously had Quadzilla 140hp boxes and both got from 22 to 23mpg. With the C5 box both have stayed at about the same fuel mileage when driving on the 100hp settings. From what I am told these units will be released in the very near future and I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants a box that is great for everyday driving on 100hp or for some serious performance on the 200hp setting.

Check these out. They are similar to the TST in how the function and they are very cost effective. They stack well and won't hurt your pocketbook.

With a stock auto stacking the XZT will probably kill it. If you use the 120hp module it will kill it for sure at somepoint.

Both of these modules are fueling modules and have TONS of bottom end. I promise they are stronger down low than the others mentioned.

If you want gauges look at some of the combo kits we offer that will do the things you want.

Also shop around on pricing. Our website shows retail pricing but, places like the DTR store and other supporting vendors here will give you a better deal, so call around!

Let me know if you have any questions.

I ran a van aaken on my 01' before the drag comp. both the drag and va have bben stacked with a superchips tuner. the van aaken is without a doubt better on the bottom end as far as torque goes. the drag comp absolutley kills the van aaken in any racing application......period. the comps are also nice because you can adjust them on the fly. I was very pleased with my van aaken and I did get a bit better mileage with it. the comp is just higher revving and harder fueling, but not as aggressive off idle.

im wit smokinstokes when he says if you are wanting gauges built in the box then get the juice with attitude and you can get it sent back to get it hot so its in the 160 to 170 hp range and you have pyro, boost, and trans temp as well as the turbo cool down timer which helps to keep the turbo healthy
