Van Aaken purchased....

I just purchased a Van Aaken off of eBay with BD badging on it for $75. Anyone here using the Van Aaken. I imagine its pretty similiar to a Power Puck.

Which model, the V5 or the R? Not sure how it'll work with your drag comp, the V5 was the first power mod I did on my truck, for towing, and I like it. Really woke it up, then I added the 1.6's and it really woke it up again. If the van aaken and the comp are compatible, you might not see too much of a hp gain, unless you're looking for towing power and turn the comp off. I'm not sure how all that would work, the vanaaken is kind of a mild upgrade, more suited for towing and torque. Depends on what you're gonna be doing with it, but the drag comp is a lot more hp. Not sure about the BD badging either, mine doesn't say anything like that.

I'm sorry I sold the drag comp and haven't removed it from my sig yet. Its the version that plugs into the injection pump. I've seen edge products with BD stickers so I figure it must be something they have resaled. Thanks for the info.

then thats the smart box r which i don't believe has the boost fooling in it and i believe is the older box the newer box with the newer software n boost fooling is the V5. The V5 plugs into the diagnostic port and the map sensor no messing with the pump.

Both the R and the V5 have boost fooling, they just hook up a little differently.

or for that price it could be an old old one that only plugs into the injection pump,no map sensor plug,i had one,it worked well,bd used to sell them with thier name on them, not sure if it does timing and fueling or just timing, either way it worked well, for that price who cares what it does as long as it does it.
