Cool Valve Cover?

ok so tomorrow i have the day off and want to paint my valve cover since it has that faded silver tan color and was wondering if normal spray paint would work with teh heat or if i should get some like engine block paint of a high heat tested paint!

I used normal spray paint on mine and it still looks great. I just made sure to throw a clear coat over the top.

Nope. Gasket is reusable. I didn't use krylon. I used some stuff I got in the automotive department of Wal-Mart.

My truck is silver and black also. But I think red is an excellent accent color under the hood. Well, at least thats the color I've been putting under the hood of mine. In fact I've looking for red coolant hoses. I've seen em in blue and I swear I've seen red.

I like the bright reds also. just not a red with too much orange. Like you mentioned earlier, fire engine red.

did they just polish it with a wire wheel to get old color off then go down to a finer wheel from there?

Naw, I don't. But I might have some half empty cans at home. I'll check it out later when I get there. BTW Cummins blue would look pretty cool with a silver truck. I think silver and blue is a good combo..
