A valet switch

if you are talking about a 12V engine just like the one ur 1994 has, a valet switch is basically a switch that takes the plate and afc out of the equation with it turned on.

IN other words, you are running the truck with the valet switch on with nothing but injectors and delivery valves. If you turn off the valet switch, u include the fuel plate and AFC in the equation, Thus with it on, u experience a major power loss over having the whole AFC housing and plate as well in the equation..

People on here that run it are Cumminsdriver635 (eric) and Willy91, they can better explain how it works. I know Eric has a homemade switch, and i know ***** has the one from PDR...

If you wanna take a spin with ur truck in what would seem like valet mode, go ahead and pull the rubber line from the back of the AFC that connects to the small tube that goes (send signal) to the wastegate.. That will give u an idea of what ur truck will run like with a valet switch, put the tube back on when ur done and u have full fuel...

Thanks! hope this helps

Rick

WHAT HE SAID:

I HAVE A VALET SWITCH (Air valve,) between the line going to the afc!
thats on a... say 370 Hp truck.

valet mode takes me to stock! im way overfueld for that hx35, and with valet, at full boost, you can see the road again, driving behind me...

keep the egts in check in valet mode too!

Pretty good suggestion 12V

i like that idea for a fast, cheap and easy valet swith, might just have to do that for mine.... although i must confess

with this switch on, isnt it the same thing as blocking the wastegate and getting more boost out of ur stock turbo? i know when i run a blocked gate, i plug up the end of the hose that connects to the back of the AFC housing, and i run a vacuum plug on the steel end of the cable...

Ur thoughts?

oh yeah you are right!!!! My 98 has the wastegate line on its own turbo a 1 foot hose!

in valet mode i make about 25 boost, and in full fuel 35 psi

yep on your truck it would probobaly block the wastegate, but with so much less fuel, it wont really spool up that much! IMO
