i am currious as to the possability of ordering up the air activated Dcelerator over the eletric and then using a T in the vacume line to provide the air for activation? would it work? has anyone done something like this. it appears with the control box in the cab and running the air to it and then to the brake it would work the only question then is do they offer a piston actuator that will work with vacum instead of positive air pressure.


This is on a 4" exhaust so if you have done this and can list the kit # from US gear that would be helpful.

Hey one other thought, has anyone compared the braking power of the decelerator to ax exhaust elbow mounted brake? does the D-celerator imrpove in it functionality withthe 60# springs even though they say you dont need them. any reviews or thoughts on this aspect of the brake would be interesting too. as im going to have to use an in-line brake in.

 

So what did you end up with? I think the air version requires an air supply, not vacuum. I've been looking at a 4" D-celerator. I need to get a bigger turbo and will have to get rid of the Pacbrake. Haven't had any problems with the pacbrake though.

 

FWIW - I have the US Gear D-celerator 4" electric. It is a nice unit, works great and have not had any problems. Everytime you start up the D-celerator turn itself on and off twice. It is suppose to keep the carbon from building up. but it also lets you know it is working properly.

Gosh this is an old post, havent done anything, been too busy at work to play lately, plus budget for toys is on hold looking for a home too Doesnt mean i havent done my research and know exactly what i am going to get and do to my 12v. This is one of them, i will probably go with the eletric version

 

Looks like the best one, I plan on getting an air actuated unit.
