Upgrading water/meth pump

Right now I'm running two .625 nozzles that come on at 20psi and are at full force at 30psi. I tried a run today with pure water and I need to up the starting boost because it bogged the motor once it started spraying and took a while to catch back up (amazing that the jump from a .375 to a .625 can do that). Do yall think it would be worth upgrading to the 220psi pump or just upping the pressure on my current 150psi pump? At full fuel I'm pushing 48-52psi of boost. Thanks yall.

I could never run 2 625's. But, with the pump all the way up, running the 375 and 625 makes a good combo in my truck.

The guys at cooling mist told me that Snow just turns all of their pumps up, so I think you would be fine just turning the pressure up on your current setup. He told me the Snow pumps are just regular old Sur-Flow ag pumps. If you're going to upgrade maybe it would be worth checking into the Cooling Mist pump that is built to handle methanol and has pressure turned up a bit from the factory?

Crimedog, I've looked at snows website and they have another pump that is physically bigger and is set from the factory at 220psi. Mine is set from the factory at 150psi but is adjustable up to 220psi.

One thing you might consider . . . .

Ditch the OEM 1/4" OD plumbing.

I don't know about yours but, my six gallon tank and pump are located in the passengers side of the aluminum tool box in the bed.

All said and done, there's roughly 23' of tubing from the pump to the nozzles.

With a 50/50% blend, I'm running two 18gph (@ 150psig) nozzles with the 150psig pump pressure switch maxed. As such a recent dyno run showed I'm only 20HP/10ftlbs to the better with the W/M (at peak). That stinks!

I replaced the 1/4" OD tubing (fittings, couplers and all) with a single piece of 1/4" ID tubing.

WOW!! BIG IMPROVEMENT!!!

I would recommend that if your plumbing is longer than ten feet, you should strongly consider up-sizing the plumbing. Especially with two nozzles.

Tyler is running his pump right by the stock windshield res, so I dont think the length of tubing is too much.

Tyler, how much is the upgraded pump?

No just turn up the full on. Set the start 20psi and full on 40-45psi so it don’t hit so hard at low boost and bog the truck.

Will I can get the upgraded pump for $40 so I think I'm gonna go ahead and do that and I'm gonna readjust the starting point up to about 25psi and the full point to about 40-45psi.

I've got the pump mounted underneath the battery box and I'm using my windsheild washer reservoir as the tank.

Thought all Diesel Kits from Snow's came with 220 psi pump?? Sorry...just read above - post #4. Is the 220 preset pump adjustable to higher??
If not why bother? I've been lead to believe that there is only one bigger 'Sur-Flow' pump that all companys use... and 220 psi is all there is, if that much, according to CoolingMist.

So what is this 140/150 psi pump able to adjust to I hear people talking about adjusting them but i've never seen them up close. How much more psi can you get out of them?
