If you un-plug it without a comp, your check engine light will come on. There might be some other boxes that the check engine light wont come on with, but I dont know for sure. I unplugged it when I had my van aaken box and the light came on, but the truck was much more responsive. I have it unplugged now with my comp and it can be kinda hard to take off without leaving a cloud behind. Most of that is probably the way I drive though I unplugged it from the boost sensor, leaving the comp still connected, that way there is no check engine light.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think there would be any effects. The computer fuels according to boost levels. So without a boost fooler, and the boost sensor unplugged, the truck might go into a "limp" mode. There is only one way to find out for sure, go out and unplug it! If it has no effect, just plug it back in and everything will be back to normal. After a couple key cycles the check engine light will go off on it's own. At least it did when I had mine unplugged with the van aaken.

Without a box, nothing happens except for the check engine light coming on. I tried this a few months ago, and it just acted a little sluggish without any smoke so you have to have a boost fooler to make it smoke and give it power from what I understand.

At the current price of diesel fuel, sending all that partially burned fuel out the tailpipe just to "impress' someone seems like a waste.

if you have a box do you just unhook it from the block or the box or does it matter, just anywhere.
