Twins questions

Im building a budget twins setup (trying). I have all the equipment to fab up a setup.

Where can I buy the flanges for the setup and things like the vband clamps for the downpipe? I have acces to all the exhaust tubing and bends.

Would the HT3b be the best (budget) turbo to run with the hx 35/40 with 12cm wg or should I go bigger?

Do I need to run 5" exhaust now?

I am looking to put together something with good potential so maybe I can add a bigger injector pump in the future.

Thanks

Ht3b-26 is about your best bang for the buck for the big turbo... you'll want to run 5" exhaust off the turbo

Keith at Diesel Dynamics can get you the HX35 downpipe flange. not sure about the HT3b people make/sell them. we made my flanges w/ 1/2" plate and a plasma cutter. (would have rather paid for them! LOL!)

your top turbo will be fine with an external wastegate... otherwise the 12w might be too small for the hot side of the top turbo.

I'm planning on running a full HX40-12 on top w/ an external gate

Forrest--

Where are you getting a 12 housing for the full 40??

I assume you are just having the 35 housing machined for the larger turbine wheel?

I burnt these on a friend’s plasma table. He went out of business and the plasma table is gone

I think he still has the dfx (??) program somewhere. I bet you I can still get it.

I think i have a couple of pieces you might be able to use. I have at least a manifold spacer and a 35 flange for the hotpipe. I probably have some spare elbows also. Let me know if you need a 3/8" or a 5/8" manifold spacer. Send me your address and I'll ship them to you if you don't mind paying for ups.

I've sold a number of housings, but none were modified... I had an oddball 14 gated housing that had a HUGE internal gate. still have no idea where that thing came from

the twins are in exactly the same state that they were last summer

I've been unemployed for quite a while now, so all my money comes from side work and pimping parts on the internet! LOL! took me a while to put together the $$ for a 13" FE. (didn't want to blow another 12" OFE!) I've got the FE. looking for a good 12v head that I can hang on the shortblock I've got sitting in the garage. then the twins get "finalized" (downpipe, wastegate pipe, oil lines, etc.)

THEN the twins get installed and I start porting the head and try to get it o-ringed and installed w/ studs before I poop the stock head gasket

as I said the other day... SLOWLY but surely

Justin, if you can get the files for the plasma table to me, I'll see if my friend can use them. What material were you cutting them from?
email grporter@pacbell.net
Once I find out if they'll work, I'll check back on here...

I have a hotpipe elbow, hx35 flange, and 2 spacers(3/8", 5/8") in a box for you. Send me your ups address and I'll ship them to you.

Thanks to RonA I have most of the stuff tracked down. Now where to get the cold pipe elbow (I guess what you would call flanges) The part where the vband clamp clamps on too, and oh yeah the v band clamps themselves. Any suggestions?
