Turbo Sugg. ?

Ok here goes.....

I am taking a day off of work too put in my DDT tranny, and pierce my comp wire (FINALLY!! )

Question is will my dinky little hy-35 cool the comp?? I do plan on throwing in some coal sticks in the future (mach 3 or 4), and am wondering which turbo should i be planning on buying? Will an HX40 be sufficient or am i gonna have too hit up the b-1's?

Another question for you guys is i do already have a comp, but i can get my hands on a TST PM3 with remote for dirt cheap. Would it be worth it for me too sell my comp, and get this PM3?? Because I know i can get an EZ and the PM3 for about the same price as i can sell my comp for.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Will a B-1-2 work with this setup?

It will work...but still get hot. Give you maybe 8-10 sec at WOT before you have to back out of the throttle (hitting 1500*). Anything bigger spools very slowly on an auto. Too slow for me, anyway.

HX-40 won't do it for you, IMO....and the B1-2 on a Comp and Mach 4's will put you over 50 PSI boost, causing possible head gasket problems....as the B-1 line is not wastegated.

Personally, I prefer the TST to the Comp. But I believe the Comp is comparible performance to the EZ stacked on a TST PM3. If I had a Comp that worked well...I would probably stay with it.

i see you have almost the exact set-up i want too run, how does the KSB-1 hold up for egt's?? And what do you have your external WG set at?

as for head gasket problems...whats the best route there?? a marine copper gasket with studs?

The B-1-2 gives better cooling...I was at 400 HP when I got mine. W.G. set at 45 psi. Over that, all B-1's get hot and gain no HP, IMO.
I can hit 1500* in about 8 sec w/o the water injection.
O-ringed Head and studs is all you need. Maybe just studs...if staying with single turbo and 50 psi boost +/-.

I got the quick spool from Rip and have the drag comp and mach 4's. It is a stick, but the turbo didnt spool anywhere close to what my hx35 did. Towing anything and I had to back out. I finally bit the bullet and bought some twins. IMO, only way to go with that much fuel. The single was way to laggy. On the dyno with the single I hit 438 hp. With the twins I hit 508 with no difference in fuel. It just burned better. I have head studs and did not fire ring the head. I hit 58 psi of boost. I should be good with this setup. If you are putting this much money in your truck, may as well just do it right.
