turbo recommendations
Ongoing turbo issues -- Need a new turbo to replace an HX35 with too much radial play in the shaft and slight scrapes on the inlet. I'd like to get a bit more horsepower and a bit less EGT's while towing, so I'm leaning away from replacing stock-with-stock. But I've got a Jacobs/Mopar exhaust brake, so I've got to retain the exhaust dimensions. I'd like to go with a 14 housing for EGT relief. So far I'm considering the following:
HX40 -- but I've been told that the turbine side of this unit is weak, and they have shaft/bearing problems
HX35 "tuned" or "high performance" -- it doesn't seem like a big step upward for the money
the HX40/HX35 hybrid, like a "Dodgezilla" -- right now this is the unit I'm most interested in; 40 on the compressor side, 35 on the turbine side, and I've been told that this is a stronger unit than the 40.
I'm open-minded, however. Looking for comments from people who have experience with these -- what do you think? -- so I can make a good decision. Thanks!
I.
Comp, not pump-pinned, 275 injectors, usual mods to the intake & exhaust

Re:turbo recommendations
If you are going to run under 400hp on the street.
I will suggest going with a modified HX35, be it the hybrid or the just a modified with a 14cm housing for the turbine.
The 40 will be a bit much for lower horsepower, and if you drive in town alot the 40 is a little big.
My truck is either going slow or too fast! ;D

Re:turbo recommendations
Dodgezilla in your case.
More topend than stock less EGT's
Spool-up is very comparable to stock.
Just my .02
Give me a call I've run all of the above turbos on lightly and heavily bombed trucks.
If you don't get me then leave me a message with your phone number. My Cells have been messed up and my caller I.D. doesen't work.
