Turbo problem?
Turbo problem?
Ok my 2000 has 125hp sticks cold air 4in and with no tunes of any kind on it pulling a 36ft trailer empty is getting way to hot like 1300 in 5th gear at 45mph. And it only makes about 10psi of boost kind of thanking the turbo is junk or is there something else I'm missing?
Or possibly a preturbo exhaust leak. Not uncommon for the stock manifolds to warp and crack. Mine warped so bad it was unmachinable. Didn't crack tho.
Could be turbo, but unlikely. Pretty easy to inspect the compressor wheel. Since it's making 10psi that means it's not seized due to coking, but the compressor wheel or exhaust fan could be damaged preventing proper boost. Waste gate could be malfunctioning, but usually they fail closed, not open, so this is unlikely your problem.
