I just installed my II PS62/14 and was wondering if there is a break in time?
It came with Zero info....

Thanks!

Basically no break in. They are lubed with engine oil. If it makes you feel better just run mild for a while, but you should have no issues if there is sufficient lubrication.

Remember to prime the turbo prior to starting the engine. They lossen up after 100 to 200 miles. Try not to get the egt's too hot. After that let the smoke roll

FWIW, my PDR HX35 hybrid came with instructions to go easy the first 50 miles.

My SPS62 came with instructions saying let it idle for 5-10 minutes, then go for a drive and take it easy for the first while. 50 miles sounds good. Then let it rip.

I have had good luck giving them about 3-4 heat cycles then forget about it.

I say drive it easy until the engine is fully up to temp. Then make a couple 1/3rd throttle runs and let the truck idle for a few minutes. Without shutting down, make a couple 2/3rds throttle runs, then let it idle for a few minutes. Then, without shutting down, make 3-4 full throttle runs to maximum boost.

Since your turbo has likely survived this with no problems, it is trustworthy and will live a long life if not abused.

If it didn't survive, it was going to fail early anyway.

An easy break-in is an enemy to optimal performance of almost any machine. There are exceptions (like diffentials) but most engine-related pieces shouldn't have easy break-ins.

just drive like normal, the longer you drive the quicker it will spool, after a while it will be like lightning, hang on your gonna need tires.

Hold off on the full throttle shots, until you get some mileage on it. It carbons up the turbo and slow down some of that lighting spool-up later on. The bearing area to shaft is pretty tight. Let it break in, its hard not to want to beat on it. Also when you shut off the truck make sure your pyro isn't above the 350 deg area, this will allow your turbo to last longer.
