Anyone had any transfer case problems with a modded truck? I am not sure what the mods would have to do with it cause I don't typically launch the truck in 4 wheel drive. Anyways, I was in 2H today driving down the interstate about 65 and the cases exploded. The chain slapped the bottom of the floor board. The skid plate is full of broken gears and pieces of the case. Anyone got any opinions on needing to modify the transfer case or the best place to get a replacement?

 

The 241DHD and the 271HD are both stronger than your 241LD case. The 241LD was stock for all automatic transmission equiped trucks.

Oh yeah, the 241DHD bolts in without modification, the 271HD requires a little bit of crossmember work if I remember right.
