Trans line question
Trans line question
The trans line with the adaptor for the temp sending unit, see the line in my pic. Does that line go to the cooler or out of the cooler? Inlet or outlet?

I've seen just over 250 degrees offroad slow crawling.
In my opinion that is bad.
Others say it is fine, due to it going right to the cooler, then mixing with cooler fluid back in the pan, so it isn't that hot for very long.
The tranny tech at the dealership said the Trans Temp Idiot Light comes on at 280, and by that time you'd better be pulling over.
Not sure where it is measured though, but I think it's in the valve body somewhere.
Normal driving it hovers between 180 and 210 depending on if I'm on the freeway, or stop and go city traffic.

I got mine at the local dodge dealer they had it in stock, The sending unit came with my guage. I was seeing temps in the 280 the other day, and when I called my trans guy he said the trans check engine light comes on at 250 and with triple disc TC those temp are common and that I should put a sender in the other side coming out of the cooler and wire it to a switch to toggle between the two. That does sound like a good idea, just to be safe. anyone know at what temp trans fluid willl boil?
