Track bar bracket
Track bar bracket
Solid Steel Industries, the maker of the famouse DSS steering bracket now has a bracket that when installed lets you put on a track bar from a 2003 and 04 with the rubber bushings on both ends, I have one on my 2001,fits and installs flawlessly just like the DSS steering bracket, absolutly no more track bar problems for the life of the truck.
Strickly bolt on,no welding, cutting, or modifacation in any way shape or form, just like the DSS steering bracket,20 minute job, three bolts on the bracket plus one bolt on each end of the track bar,all bolts supplied, took me about 15min. to install mine. There also powder coated,I talked to them a couple of days ago, they have them in stock right now ready to ship. With these two brackets and a new style track bar I cant believe how my truck steers, unbelievable is the word. Best investment on a vehicle I ever made.
Unfortunately, they're not perfect. The bracket middle bolt passes through a crossmember just under the intermediate steering shaft. If you're not careful and you don't sink the bolt far enough into the crossmember, bending the top bolt hole inward a bit, the bolt head will interfere with the turning of the steering shaft.
And that is dangerous.
Be very careful with that; I'd recommend a strong carriage bolt and no washer, instead of the bolt and washer supplied with the kit.
Otherwise, an excellent product.

I have had mine in for about 2 months, or just short of and love it.
That and the DSS are the best upgrades I have ever installed. It really shines when you are towing and need sensitive control.
The point about the bolt is true just under the steering box. Mine had some slag from the factory covering the hole that I had to drill out, but once that was done it only took me about 45 min to R/I the setup.

EJB,
I don't know if we are supposed to post cost but at the time I ordered they had a special on. $350 CAD Plus taxes for both the DSS and the 03TB. I then had to bend over
at Mopar for $360 for the trac bar.

Track Bar + Mag-Hytec
The solid steel one is still probably the way to go. If you call them he will say to order the kit and trac bar from mr bob's in CA. Total cost shiped to pa here was just over 400$ Took me about 5hours to install. I suggest snug it all, install the trac bar then tourq it. My main problem was I torqued the brace in first and it flexed ant the ears that hold the tracbar became missalligned.
What a pain. Also I "think" that if I get any kind of compression on my front end the brace hits the trac bar. Anyone notice this? I allready have 2" of lif so it should have that much more clearance. I cant imagine it on a stock truck. must be resting on the bar all the time. They dohowever also have a brace comming out next week or so for lifted trucks to convert to the 03 trac bar.

Installed my track bar kit this weekend. Fixed my "clunk" feel in the steering for sure.
When I removed the old track bar the left front wheel dropped about 3 inches. I thought “Great. This is going to be hard to get lined back up.” So I installed the bracket as loose as possible. Then connected both end of the track bar. When I torqued down the bracket bolts it pulled the wheel back into place.
