Tow truck rear axle
Hi guys ... my buddy want's me to stuff a narrow rear axle under a single rear wheel bed .
I have done alot of chevys using tow truck axles and the trucks were perfect ... you change out the hangers and the rear tucks under the bed really nice .
Any one ever stuffed a narrow dually box truck or tow truck axle under there truck .
Thanks
Greg

Not real sure what your asking, but they make two different dana 80's, one for the dually's and one for the c&c that is also under some 3/4 tons. The dually is 5" wider than the c&c. If he has a 3/4 ton with a man. tranny he should have the dana 80. hope this helped?
Greguw is asking about putting a C&C DRW D80 under a SRW pick up and if it is possible. To answer that question, yes, it is possible but depending on the tire size, there could be some interference issues with the inner fender wells and the inner duals and you will have to remove the plastic wheel well liners if the pick up in question is equipped with them. Other than that, the C&C DRW D80 will be a direct bolt in.
All the trucks I've seen like that, they had to cut the fender in the bed to keep it from rubbing, but they have all been chevys. If you want a dual wheel 3/4 ton why not just put in longer wheel studs and use the rearend that's under it already.
You can't.....the bud wheels won't clear the SRW brakes. The only way would be to run the conversion spacers like those offered from Arrowcraft and you would also have to add fenders to cover the outer duals which will have a slightly wider track width than even an OEM DRW D80 pickup axle.
