torque plate question

What is the advantage to buying a new torque plate over just modifing and moving a stocker? Is the curve different? are all plates the same? Would a $100 #6 plate off ebay be the same as me buying a #6 plate from TST for $200? I have a 95 auto, what would be a good plate for me? I figure I will never tow over 4000#s and really looking for fuel mileage most of all.

if you are looking for the best miliage, leave the plate alone and bump the timing. and about the only plate i put in anything any more is a home made #100.

I went down today and had the local muffler shop put a strait pipe on it. I really can't tell much difference in noise inside the cab with the windows up. Has anybody seen much of an improvement in mileage changing out the injectors? I don't mind spending a little money but just don't want to waste it on something I don't need.

I wouldn't buy new injectors (unless worn out), just for mileage. I saw a slight increase in mileage with the 370s I had, but DDP injectors are MUCH better. They have the correct spray pattern as well. The 370s don't. They are marine injectors, and the piston bowl shape on those engines is different than ours.

A #10 is a great all 'round plate for towing, or just daily driver.

Don't add more fuel without adding some gauges to watch everything.
