Torque Converter

Ive heard some good things about the TST torque converter. It drops rpm by as much as 300-400rpm and locks up tight. What about the Suncoast or DTT's? If Im going to spend a stack of cash thought I should do some research.

Dont know about TST's, but Suncoast, and DTT make good stuff. I personally went with Dave Goerend at www.gbtransmissions.com. Most the big manufacturers make pretty good stuff, but Dave has second to none customer service, and his prices are usually a little cheaper,a nd he makes a great product. That said, either DTT, or Suncoast would be my second choice with no complaints from me. Just call up all the big tranny manufacturers and see who treats you the best. A list to look at would be:

ATS
DTT
Goerend
Suncoast

And one company that you dont hear a whole lot about is Dunrite(which if i remember right make the tranny stuff for TST) which seems to be making great stuff too( www.dunriteconverters.com ). I personally wouldnt hesitate to go with them either. So just do some research, and see what you like best.

Make a plan on the upgrades , then talk to the builders , and they can make the TQ to match your needs .
My plan is to go down to Goerends Bro.s soon. there closer than anybody els.

a big drop in rpm at lock up means the converter is not working efficiently when not locked...nothing more. Once there locked they should all turn the same rpm. If you have an efficient converter the lock up is much less noticable then stock.

Now a big drop on rpm when they shift means it is working well
