Question Summit LP

Will the Carter Lift pump from Summit bolt right up to the stock location? Aside from the wiring? It looks the same. And why can you not use teflon tape? Thanks

You'll have to switch out the bolts on top with the ones on the stock LP. I'd do it one at a time. You'll have to cut the plug off the stock harness and put some ring terminals on also making sure which one is hot so the pump runs in the right direction. Some use the teflon tape and some don't. I use it but am careful not to put it on the bottom of the fitting or the first couple of threads so it does'nt end up in the VP44. And of course you'll have to cut the the fuel line and slpice it with a small piece of 3/8id 30R7 hose.

I tried two carter lift pumps, first one ran for 2 minutes, died. Second was dead out of the box. A Holley blue is now handling the job.

Wow...2 inna row. I guess I'm lucky with 11 months on the Carter I got from Summit.
One thing though...the stock fuel fittings don't fit the Summit pump. Like Eric said, cut lines and fuel hose will be necessary as well as the electrics.

On the inlet side you can go down the line to where the hard line starts and take the factory rubber/plastic line off and connect you 3/8 fuel line there and then to the pump inlet where you will need a 3/8npt to 3/8 hose barb fitting in the pump.
On the outlet side you will need to cut the hard line between the FF and LP so you can connect your 3/8 fuel line to another 3/8npt to 3/8 hose barb fitting on the other side of the pump.
Since the threads in the after market Carter are 3/8npt instead of M12X1.5 you will have to do this.
Use good hose clamps, I like to use FI clamps or some other smooth banded clamps and some 30R7 fuel line.
