Stock wheel size

Are the stock alloy wheels on a 2001 2500 16x8? I want to get the BFG 315 All Terains, and I have heard that a 9" wide rim is recommended. What would the proper offset be with a 16x9" wheel? I have seen a lot of 16x8" wheels, but not many 16x9". Does anyone know of a good source?

Yes, stock alloys are 16x8.
Stock steelies are 16x7 (I think, maybe 16x7.5)

There are many folks running 315's on stock alloys.
They'll wear funny, but they'll work.

I would like to avoid the funny wear pattern if possible. That would shorten the life of the tire wouldn't it? I have not been able to find 9" wide wheels in the 16" diameter. If I go to a larger diameter, there are some 9" wide wheels, but I will NOT put on taller wheels. I think that looks good on lowered 2wd trucks, but not 4wd. I will ordered my 2" leveling kit today, so hopefully I won't have to many rubbing issues with the 315s, but if I do it is certainly something I can live with.

Why spend the money on new wheels when the tires will work fine on the stock ones.

I'm running 315 buckshot mudders on my stock steel wheels with no issues. They are wearing fine the sidewall does bulge a little nothing to worry about, in fact it keeps me from ever rubbing my super sweet steel rims.
