stock air box boot
taking out the boot between the fender and the stock air box, is this bad in any way? im about 99.9% sure it only chages the turbo sound but not 100% sure. when i have time im going to NAPA for a BHAF then when i feel like spending he money im going with scotty 2. thanks chris
If you're running enough power and need enough air to pull the filter minder down removing the boot is a good first step to more air.
Be careful, I've found removing the boot makes it easier for mice to find a nice home in your airbox.

my dads stock 01 5 spd 4x4 2500 would pull the filter minder down under normal driving, truck weights close to 9000 lbs with a flatbed, put in a k&n and still did the same thing, finally pulled the boot out and it hasnt happened since so it must make some flow improvement
thats what i was thinking, more air more better more turbo sound
i guess it wont matter because im going to get a BHAF next week. but its still nice to know. thanks for the reply chris
