Stereo Issues
I'm having issues with my system. Here's what I have so far.
Alpine CDA-9807 Head unit
XM Commander(FM modulated) with Terk Micro Antenna
Polk Momo 6.5 components up front
Pioneer 2 ways in the back
2 Audiobahn AQ125T 12's
1 Audiobahn 1500w Mono Ch amp (sub amp)
1 Alpine 250w 2ch amp (front speaker amp)
First problem is with the XM Commander. I had a bad display screen right out of the box. Now, after working for 2 weeks, then sitting idle for a week, it says "NO SIGNAL" on the display screen. I have contacted XM radio and they sent me a refresh signal but it didn't help. I've sent an email to Terk (the people who build the XM Commander and antenna) but I won't hear back from them until at least Monday. I might take the whole thing back to Circuit City and get my money back if I can't get this thing working right.
Second problem is with my speakers. My passenger front speaker keeps doing funky things. It gets real crackly and goes really quiet and then comes back. The wires are nice and tight in the amp and head unit. Far as I can tell, the speaker isn't blown. You think it might be because all of my wires (power wires, RCA, antenna wire for the XM radio) down the drivers side? This didn't start happening till I installed the XM. I think one day this week I'm going to rip the interior out and re run all the wires.
Thanks for the help yall.

those crazy wiring harness thats on the back of the door speakers is a mess It took me all day to figger out what was going on why does it take 30 wires to run a speaker ??Now that Im done only two of those 30 wires are being used and it works fine.

the factory door speaker has a harness connector with like 30 pins ........ Insted of trying to find some kind of adapter for aftermarket I just spliced into the wires I needed.......... the piller speakers and the rear speakers were all ran thru the door speaker in some sort of series wiring ...not anymore..... I added a componet system with built in crossover box( its about 6x4") and real skinny and its mounted inside my door panels and it runs my door and piller speakers ...... the factory harness is taped up in the door.....this is an 02' I also did the same thing in a 98'..... first gens might not be the same way???

Dieselminded, you have the 6 speaker Infinity system, that big box on the back of the speaker is an amp, thats why you have so many wires.
Blue has the stock 4 speaker system, thats why he only has two wires.

Bingo Iron Horse.
Well, I got at least one of the problems figured out. Started going through the antenna wire from where it enters the truck and noticed that it was kinked. Unkined it and it works great now.
As for the speaker, I took the door apart and one of the wires was a little loose so I tightened it up real good. We'll see how it goes when I drive her.
Thanks for the help yall.
