Steering Stabilizer

I'm attempting to build my own DSS and am wondering if anyone has some rough measurements for the custom nut that comes off the steering box shaft. I don't plan to completely copy the DSS design but I'd like to know if they keep the hex part 1-5/16" and what overall length the initial piece is. I realize this is unnecessary but it'll save me some time without using trial and error.

Thanks, Mike

I'll take a look tomorrow at my homemade one. IIRC I used a piece of 1 1/4" hex stock to make the nut. I turned one end down to an inch to fit my flange bearing.

Any measurements will work. I've got some 1-1/4 SS Hex stock so I might end up using just that. Now that I've got the bearing I might just have to build around that.

Sorry it took so long to get these measurements but the overall length of the piece of stock I used was 2.5". I kept 1" hex and turned the rest to 1" diameter. Here is a rough parts list of the material I used 1 piece 1.5" square tubing 27" long, 1 piece .25"x4"x8" long, 2 pieces 1.5"x 1.5" angle iron 7" long. I hope this is what you needed. If you need any other measurements just shoot me a pm and i will try and get them for you.

That helps give me a ballpark idea. Now we'll see what I can do.

Thanks

When you get yours done would you mind sending some plans my way? I have been thinking about building my own also.
