Stainless steel exhaust?

Stainless steel exhaust?
I was just wondering if any one has heard of running 3 inch stainless steel pipe in place the original exhaust? I have access to plenty of stainless with an inside diameter of 3 inches. Would it be worth (HP wise ;D) to go through the trouble of installing and can it even be done? Also how about the sound? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Stainless exhaust will not give you any HP gain....you will gain a little HP by going to straight exhaust without a muffler ;D and your neighbors will enjoy the noise also at 3am
