Stacking EZ on a PM3

Can someone tell my how this works? What plugs in where?

Thinking of doing this - can anyone with this set up give me feed back on pros & cons (if any) of stacking?

map sensor-tst map plug-ez map plug-factory harness........plug the other ez harness into the data port.and yes,,you will like it,,and yes,you will get alot more off boost smoke(cause i know youll leave the ez to its hottest setting).and it makes the truck run alot better-more responsive-when your driving it with the powermax turned off......................bama

Right now I have a comp w/stock turbo. I was looking at injectors, but how would the stack work with stock injection?? Should I possibly consider the change in boxes before the injectors?? I thought about stacking in the future but maybe there is no time like the present.

I run a Comp stacked with a SC tuner, and last year with my stock turbo it made roughly a 40HP difference. My big tires were slipping on the dyno, so it could have been even more significant The tuner by itself is not enough, nor is the Comp now. It is an inexpensive way to get some SOTP power, and you can install it yourself! Beware of the smoke you will see prior to the turbo spooling up, as it is significant. You can adjust some of it out with your Comp sub menu, but there will still be some smoke present if you stomp on it. Check it out, and if you cannot find somebody local to let you try it out, PM me and I may be able to let you "sample" one for a few days. LE

I too am confussed about stacking. I dont get how it works and what is the pro's to stacking two as apossed to the con's of just getting one box? Is an EZ and PM3 the same as a Comp by itself? Does the PM3 have to connect to the VP wire?

Fire1355, If you selling because you want more power send it back to TST they will reprogram it to PM3.

Katoom, On the PM3 you have to connect the VP wire. The PM3 ROCKS! It heats up quick but I would run a Mustang or Camero from a 60 MPH punch any day of the week! Also if getting the PM3 get the remote so you can haul with it too.

Katoom

I'm interested in stacking because I already have an Edge EZ from first round of HP increases.

As I understand it, after much research, EZ adds more timing than the PM3, resulting in lower EGTs and better response at low RPM's. Also adds some fueling. May or may not add HP, depending on truck model, but does add drivability. I don't need HP but would like to lower EGT's and do not object to more low end resposiveness. Can't beat Edge for low end power and TST is very strong when it comes to fueling. Combination may be best of both worlds? My only concern is strong advance of timing from Edge. I'm going to try it for a while with less than full throttle.

I have PM'ed several members with this combo (some running it for 6-12 months) and have heard no negative comments or bad side effects, thus far.

Interesting info. Please keep in touch when you get it all put together and let me know what you like and dislike. I'm also interested in possibly doing this but would rather spend the money on injectors if this isnt a good combo for towing.

Been a LONG time since Ive been on here, but here I am.

OK, to respond to this post>>> YES STACK IT BABY!!!!!! Best mod I ever made.

I stacked the Edge EZ with a PM3. As said up above: Plug the PM3 into the map sensor, then the EZ into the PM3 then the EZ into the wiring harness.

It Easily lowered my EGT's 100°F. Also WAY WAY WAY WAY (did I say WAY) more bottom end torque.

In my opinion, the PM3 was entirely too lazy with off boost fueling. Once boost is up, its great, but before boost, nothing. (remember its CARB certified, so that should tell you plenty). But now with the EZ on, you can punch it, and she comes alive like a raped ape!!! Yes you get very impressive smoke too, even with only RV 275's.
I can now, smash the throttle on the highway from 60 MPH, pulling a 3% grade, and net ever have to lift cause of EGT's EVER. I mean right up to 105 MPH when its on the governor.

Definately worth doing.

Yep, its fantastic for towing. I pull about 11,000 Lbs and the only problem with leaving the TST on 9 is that I slip the clutch. Just modulate with your right foot. Bottom line, the additional timing lowered my EGT's about 100°F. I never take my TST off of 9.

It lowered my EGTs, too. I also never took my regular PM3 off 9, either. I usually ran the comp PM3 on 5 (same as regular 9 w/o the rev limiter). The stack added quite a bit of power to the truck. IMO it made a big difference.
