pretty sure the Aurora 5000 is big enough to be used as a bottom turbo in a set of twins

Theres a big difference between those two turbos. IIRC the inducer on the SPS62 is 2.4 and the inducer on the A5K is 2.8. Fill out your signature so we can see what mods you have. How much power are you looking to make??

Do a search on them in this forum and the 3rd gen performance forum.
There are some threads that provide that info.

I have heard from a couple of guys that ran the Aurora 5000, that they just weren't getting good results with it. It appears to be better matched to the duramax.

isnt the aurora 2000 more closely matched to the sps62, both are towing turbos. i thought the 5000 was HUGE.

Yeah the A5000 is a BIG turbo. I have a buddy running a A2000 on a 98 12V and he's pretty pleased with it and he's putting down some pretty decent power out of it. I'd personally go with the SPS62, they are some sweet turbo's.

yeah.. the Aurora 5000 is supposed to be comparable to a HT3B and B2/S400 in output.. with 70 PSI possible using the turbo.. I'm actually going to pair it with my HTB2 62/14 on Thursday and see how it does.. hopefully i won't be dissapointed..

the 5000 is BIG, make no mistake!!!!!!!!! the ATS 2000 is what i use to have and its a 58/12 turbo so its almost comparible with a stocker. the SPS62 is by far a great turbo. i personally went a little bigger single and love it. either way, PS or SPS are great turbos.

May work well on a 6 speed but would be no fun on an Auto!

Unfortunately that doesn't always prove to be true. Some guys here have bought the big turbo just to find they're unhappy with spool and street manners and end up buying something smaller =\

Ill get everything updated, right now I just have a banks power pack, which im not satisfied with and an AFE pro guard 7 stage 2 intake. I plan on ditching all the banks stuff and starting over going for 500hp. I talked with II and they suggested the silver bullet 62.

I think you mean super phat shaft 62, but yes it will support 500. You're going to need injectors, clutch/tranny work, and some electronics too. Its a slippery slope from here $$$$$$
