Spot for additonal spin-on filter

I am going to be installing Mitusa in the next month or two. While I'm at it I will be adding a Perma Cool 2 micron filter & filter head.

Sounds like the Mitusa is not terribly difficult to get installed.

My problem is finding a good spot for the additional Perma Cool head/filter on a 2000 auto.

Anyone have some good spots or pics they are willing to share? The filter it came with isn't terrbily long, but when I need to replace it I will probably replace it with one of the long CAT filters so a spot with some extra clearance would be nice . . .

Would be hard to do it this way, but when I installed my home made walbro setup, I mounted everything to a piece of 1/4" aluminum and mounted that to the inside of the bedside. Works great!!! Two filters, a pump, and pressure regulator all neat and orderly. Dont have any pics at the moment but as soon as I find my camera I'll snap a couple.

that sounds like a good spot, but i use my bed for camping with a truck tent and will be for a camper someday, so i can't take up any bed space.

pics would be great though . . .

i'm sure others have mounted remote filters. where do the fass & airdog kits get mounted on these trucks?

Most of them are mounted right on the framerail.

i looked at that spot - it looks nice and out of the way.

is there the problem of bottoming out and hitting the shaft to the t-case?

i'll have another look. anyone have pics or links to pics?

on the driver side underneath the bed in the corner near the cab is where we mounted a similar set up. aluminum angle was bolted to the bed.

I installed mine inside frame rail next to the xfer case and cross member. It's up high enough to where anything that comes close will hit the cross member first. If it takes that out, I have bigger issues.

i think i'm gonna try and place it in the spot dr. evil posted about. it seems like a great spot up and out of the way. i also have the heavy plastic fenderwell liners so most spray/debris from the tires should stay off of and away from it . . .
i had a look and there is a boxed rail right under the floor of the bed it can be mounted to - problem is going to be able to drill the holes with the tools i have (don't have a 90 degree drill). hopefully i can make it work!

I put my Amsoil on the front behind the bumper. It's mounted horizontal. This is with my old setup:
