I seen a short wright up in Diesel Power Mag about Southbends 4BT powered mud racer. I have plans to hot rod a 4BT and would like to hear from anyone that has seen this machine. Or knows anything about it. Or has built up a 4BT. I am looking to try and get 400+ hp from it. And I think that about anything that works on a 12v should work on the 4BT. The engine I have is 130 hp inline pump model. I would try compound turbos, fireringing and studing the head. And having Shield do the pump. Any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks

 

400+ should not be an issue.

Check out the SBC clutch website, I believe they still have the video up.

I think Piers built the engine for them......

 

The 4bt is exactly the same engine as the 6bt engine minus the two center cylinders. Bell housings and accessory brackets are all the same.

 

IMO I would have CDS do the pump work.

 

you should be able to get alot more than 400hp out of it. There will be a couple 4b rangers down at ts drag racing that are close to 800hp
