Smoke question

About a month ago I added a 4" exhaust and a BHAF. Other than these the truck is stock. Prior to these mods the truck would puff a dark gray haze under heavy throttle. I thought it looked cool. Now the truck does not smoke at all. Can anyone explain why Did I do anything to the computer with the increased flow of air and exhaust to tell the computer to defuel? The truck did not loose any power just smoke.
p.s. my milage dropped from 21-22 to 18-19 for a while.....couldn't keep my foot out of it. Love that 4" sound and the BHAF whistle.

Your are not defueling, now that you have a BHAF you are more efficient. With the increased intake air flow you are getting a better fuel burn. That is why you do not have any more smoke. This is a good thing, as now you are not wasting fuel out your exaust. Now the fuel is being used for more power, not much but more.

Holsteinman, thanks for the reply...makes me feel better. Then makes me wonder why dodge didn't do a better intake and a 4" from the factory.

Ahhh the almighty dollar. You know I would not have blinked an eye ( and I bet nobody else would either ) if my truck would have cost a couple hundred more, especialy knowing that it would have a quaulity intake/exhaust. My buddy has an 04 and I'm pretty sure his came w/ 4" exhaust. DC may be learning though I do understand that the 600 is putting out quite a bit more power and maybe a 4" was necessary. Is the new intake any better?
