Smarty Update

This weekend I was pushing my truck hard with the new Smarty Program that increases the speed limiter, which inturn also raises the rev limiter, and my truck puked.

I hit about 3400 - 3500 rpms and the truck died.

Ended up air managed to get in the fuel lines, thought the vp44 died.

Anyone else have this problem?

I had my smarty on 3, quad box on 3, if it helps.

I've vapor locked my truck twice... both times it was after lifting off the throttle after making a high rev run....

turns out that my #6 injector line wasn't quite fully tightened down after an injector swap. I am still very careful about lifting off the skinny pedal when it's been mashed thru the floorboard.

Do you have stronger valve springs to safely spin your motor that high?

Thats what exactly happened to me, As soon as I lifted off the pedal after a hard run it died.

Nope, looking to do springs soon, right now I am being easy on the truck. What is involved with doing springs, do I have to pull the head, cause if I do, studs and new gaskets are going in.

You don't have to pull the head to change the springs....just bring each piston to TDC & let the valve drop on to the pistons. I would do some studs if you plan on high revs.

Was thinking about doing head studs, and might as well as if I am already planning on doing springs.

Who makes a good set of valve springs, and how much...
