Smarty/TST Dyno runs!!

On a Dyno Jet 248. I think my vp44 is getting weak, no codes but my numbers are not what i was expecting. Def low.

Just Smart 9= 443hp torque didn't read
S9/TST6= 530.9/938@ 48lbs boost
S9/TST9=524.4/957
S9/TST4=529.9/931
S3/TST6=524.4/941.8
S3/TST6=532.4/980.6@ 54lbs boost
S3/TST9=527.7/959.3
S3/TST2=521.6/967.6
S3/TST5=528.2/959
S3/TST7=528.9/961

With 30%Meth/70%Water
S3/TST6=520/1019 Boot blew off but run was lookin good
S9/TST6=547/1004
S3/TST6=549.6/1016
S5/TST6=544.7/1024.2

Truck would not lite very well at all on the dyno, I dont think the rollers load them enough to get it to lite as best as possible.
Might have to bite it for a new vp

Are those corrected numbers? Do you have a graph?

Went to the track right after 12.68@104 Smarty 5 TST 6
12.75@104 Smarty 3 TST 7

Suppose to get the graphs e-mailed to me

Did you have any old dyno pulls with the Drag Comp for comparison? I know some believe that the Drag Comp gives you better numbers on the dyno......not sure at the track. I really like my Smarty/TST combo, but nothing gets my 6 speed out of the hole like the Smarty does. My comp has shown promise in the past on the dyno, but I havn't spent the cash to upgrade it to the Drag version because the Smarty lets it tach past 3200 also. Also, I've also heard some that believe the Smarty hurts you on the dyno. Mike D has tuned his to gain another 50 hp or so by turning his down to SW3......I see you tried that with limited success. If you still have your drag comp, you may want to make a run with the drag comp in ez mode doing your timing and let the TST do your fueling. I got some of my best pulls so far with that combo.....I still had my Smarty on even sw's though. I didn't have time that day to take the Smarty out of the equation. I agree with you that you should have more power with all that you have on your truck. You just may need to get it tuned to dial it in. Good luck, Matt

In the fall i dynoed my truck with a Drag comp 7's and a B-1 Steroid and only made 516, and ran a 12.36@108 i just think my pump is losing power to be honest

Could be. I think I've heard a fresh VP can give you up to 30hp......going from memory so not positive. I think I got about 55hp, but I put in a hrvp.

I know of 2 people that either were putting down low numbers or running alot slower at the track and put a new pump on and picked up 100hp and the other 9 tenths at the track. So im kindof leaning towards that idea cause i just had the head of in the fall and cylinders looked great as far as the hone marks so i would think the rings shoud be fine as far as loosing power there.

gotta be a weak pump. those mach 7's should be making well over 600hp. mach 4's make the power you are getting.

last time i was at the track is when i realized my pump was bad but it was breaking up on the top end and bucking and sputtering. i had a little fun tonight and beat some 13 second ricers both from a roll and launching from a light. i was really happy with the way my turbo spooled with the smarty on 9/TST on 7.

Thats close- Doug was running a drag comp in ez mode for its aggressive timing =P

6 lbs more boost and 42 more ft/lbs using sw3 over sw9? I might have to give sw3 another try so I can quit arguing with Mike D
