Smarty no smoke level shift problems

I've got 140 hp injectors so I thought I'd try the no smoke setting for everyday driving. Major drop in power but still plenty more than stock, but the trans. shift points are all screwed up. Engine over revs in most gears before shifting and won't go into 1st when you come to a stop sign. Would'nt even care but milage was better in this setting. Twogun

are you talking about SW#1 fuel saver? if so, that dosent sound right.
i run SW#1 and really like it b/c it's not so hard on the tranny, like making it shift too soon, when its on sw#5-9. i think something is wrong with your tranny, mine always goes into 1st, when i come to a stop.

How does the transmission behave when you return to the stock program?

I don't see any transmission modifications in your signature, but I don't think the Smarty has anything to do with the truck not downshifting into 1st when you come to a stop.

He's talking smarty level #0. I tried it to and you definately can't make the truck smoke and my truck was a dog with that program. Tranny shifted really bad to. You had to wrap first gear out to 2500 rpm or so before it would shift. Mine always shifted back down into first though when I came to a stop. Smarty level #1 is nice for me but ya never know when a race is gonna pop up for me so I leave it on #5 so I can get the power outta the truck. Anyone ever dyno #1?

It is on the 0 setting. !/2 power and no smoke, but it does rev way high for shifts and won't go into 1st at a stop sign. Twogun

Alright,

now that we know for sure which SW# you are talking about....

Not shifting back into 1st is not right. It may or may not be the influence of the Smarty. I suggest contacting whoever you bought it from and discuss it.

I think the reason that the transmission shift points are different is because you have less power. Just think... if you had a built transmission with a tight converter and were throwing half the power to it the truck would likely stall or constantly be searching for the correct gear. I think Smarty purposely revs high before shifting to avoid that from happening.

Again though, the real way to get the best answer to your problem is by contacting whoever you bought it from. If I had that type of problem I would have confidence that Bob Wagner (who I bought mine from) would help me get it straightened out as quickly as possible.

Let us know when you get it squared away.

half power is only good on very hp trucks and for emission testing.

not recommended for daily driving on a mildly modded truck
