All you have to do is remove the intake hose to the turbo from the air filter then use 2 flathead screw drivers to pry out a snap ring that holds a brass ring in place behind it (looks like a brass washer, sorta). Once you get the snap ring out, wiggle the larger one out that is behind it. Make sure not to scratch or ding the turbo housing, this can cause debris or shavings to be sucked in to the turbo--not good. Then just slide the intake hose back on and your done. Not too bad for an easy mod that makes your turbo sing.

its simple to remove--------the tools youll need are-----2 strait screw drivers and a cigar------------just take off the inlet tube going to the turbo (its the big plastic tube running between your air box (where your filter is )and the turbo) . When the tube has been removed do not clean with tire wet ....bad idea...... with the tube off look in to the turbo youll see little fins and probly some chips out of the tapered piece in frount of the fins ...dont worry these are just balancing marks from the factory around the housing in frount of the fins there is a snap ring..... locate the gap and use the 2 screw drivers to pry the snap ring out.. when it falls out the silencer ring will fall out too now put the inlet tube back on and throw the rings in your glove box then fire up that cigar and go for a ride......Its not a performance mod is a show off mod and its not gonna hurt your truck any. Itll just more.... I dont think anybody trany started slppin from removin the silencer ring I hope I helped and last but not least the search button @ the top of the page is your friend many of the pros here that give the best advice will ignore repeated post because theyve already taken the time to answer the question in full detail.to get the best feedback just search for your question....... chances are the pros have schooled someone already...later
