I hear everyone talking about taking the silencer ring at the inlet of the turbo....what exactly does this silencer ring do....and what can i expect if i rip the little sucker outta der'

 

it kind of guides the air smothly into the turbo fins without it the air kind of just flys in to the turbo and it whisels going across where the ring was sounds pretty cool do a search on the home page for more than enough info and enjoy brunning up you fuel to hear it whisel.

 

There is not any proven performance benifit. It was invented to reduce the sing or whistle of the turbo that some found offensive Whatever. Mine was lost about 2 days after I bought the truck. After adding the BHAF you can certainly hear it sing..LOL

i wish i new about the ring before i put 200,000 miles on it but now i made up with putting a BHAF in it its too cooooooollllllll chris
