shift kit or aftermarket valve body

Hey all, i have been looking into trying to solve the drain back issue on my truck (really annoying when en-route to a fire call , especially when i forget ).

i was thinking of changing the valving in the VB so it flows in park, and was wondering if i should go with a shift kit or a aftermarket valve body?

or should i just put an oem trans line with the check valve back on?

When I was talking to Dave Goerend last week he said his VB's do flow more in park but it's affects in park are negligible as far as line pressure, now in gear it's about double stock. I'm not familiar with your drain back issue just passing on what I've heard.

after my truck has sat for a while, for instance overnight, I get in to go some where and my truck will be revved up to 3k and only do 20-30 mph. then all of a sudden it will drive normal. i was told this has to do with the fluid draining out of the Torque Converter. problem is, i will let it sit 4-5 min in neutral and it will still do it.

well a shift kit is just a band aid to getting an aftermarket valvebody so i would just with an aftermarket valvebody, and be done with that part of it.

Why do you consider a shift kit a band aid? I have heard some good things about them.

hmmm. that doesnt' sound right to me.

i'll leave mine sitting for a week, and the converter will drain. i'll let it sit in netural for maybe 20 seconds, and it always comes in.
