Question ScottyII or AFE ?

Nothing like beating a but i have to ask for advice. I am going do ditch the K&N and go with either a AFE or ScottyII setup. Any pros or cons to either setup? Hows the noise compared to each other. Leaning towards the ScottyII w/ undrilled cowl, but i wonder why the AFE's are so popular. Thanks for being patient

You will have more turbo noise especially under load. The vast majority like it. However, for some its too much. The silencer ring usually goes back in if it was removed from the turbo but then again there are a lot of people that prefer even more SOUND!

When First installed with the cowl hole it seems really loud. as time goes by it is less noticable.
when first checking out , radio off ac of no back ground cab noise. now using radio, ac is on can still hear but not loud or obnoxious. Cut the hool and get COOOOOOL air.

If noise in the cab concerns you a Scotty with a TAG is just as quiet as the stock filter plus you'll get better mpgs and much lower egts especially if you run at higher boost often such as when towing.
I don't like high pitched noise in the cab and don't want to get used to it, wouldn't be without a TAG

I'm all for hearing more turbo Do i get to keep the manometer?. I didn't see it's location in the directions. I would like to keep it, but i'm convinced this is the air intake system to get now.

Don't hold me to this,if someone has a different opinion please chime in,The scotty II is very restrictive over 500hp.So if you are planning to be over 500hp go with AFE.The only reason I know this because,I tried the Scotty II and was able to pull my filter minder all the way down. With the AFE it dosn't budge.

I just installed the stock filter minder into my cold air pipe after the air filter.

Where did you put a filter minder on the Scotty 2?

What filter did you use?

Besides that...anything at or over 500HP would need a bigger turbo or getting close to twins...which for now the Scotty 2 does not work on twins.

I was running twins and did find it restrictive with the twins.

It is not needed and there is no provision for it.
