I have had my 9000's for about 1.5 years (one winter). They look like they came off of a '73 D100! They are totally rusted! They advertize that these shocks endure a 120 hour salt spray test. I guess my set didn't stay in the paint long enough. I really hate paying big bucks and getting crap!
I have owned many sets of Rancho 9000's and my experience is that the finish doesn't last more than a few years on a vehicle that is driven all winter on salty roads. My application sees well over 120 hours of salt spraying in only one winter!!
Anyone expirienced their Rancho's "softening up" on a single setting?
I've had mine for about 1 yr (45,000 miles) and have twice started to notice a mushy feeling. If I change to a higher setting they feel firm and good as new! After a while....more of the same weak...bouncy feeling. If I go to a lower setting, they feel firm again.....softer, but with less bounce???
I've been up & down in settings several times (between #6 and #9)...always with good results. Just seems strange.
I travel many county dirt roads with lots of washbord surfaces and everything I'm reporting is just SOP feeling...so maybe I just like the different feel of a new setting? But it seems like more than that.
All this is front end only....I adjust the backs to match my load. They seem fine.
Anyone else notice this?

Yes!....I have had the same problem from time to time but only with 9000X's - not the old 5 spd 9000's.....don't know why....I think the 9 spd's are identical to the older 5 spd's other than the fact that there is an extra detent between each of the existing 5 spd's on the X's, giving 9 points of adjustability instead of 5.......Like you RJ, the problem seems to vanish after you spin the **** again.......sorry, no solution, though....
