Question for other 12V owners who run 370s

Guys,

for those of you who run a 100 plate, what are your optimum settings? This includes governer arm, starwheel and AFC settings. Currently i have found that my power loss is caused by an improperly adjusted governer arm, Now these screws on the governer arm are always a PITA to remove while the fuel filter is in the way, Im gonna get a stubby screwdriver to facilitate this problem,

My current setup is about 2/3 forward on the 100 plate, full forward AFC, and 90 percent starwheel, Seems to me this setup works quite well, I have 370s that will be goin in soon (in about one week) and want to know, will this be sufficient to go ahead and run the 370s to their full potential?

I have understood that sometimes too far forward on anything is not always the best scenario, I am concerned for power as well as economy, i wanna balance them out,

So what settings would you all reccomend for the starwheel, AFC and my plate, should i just remove my filter and adjust the governer arm at WOT to just barely hit the tip while the plate is at full forward?

Thanks!

Rick

My optimum setup is right where you have yours set right now. That's exactly how my govenerr arm is set and it works really good. Good luck with the injectors...*****

You may not wanna quite try my setup-the afc arm is sitting on a shelf in the shop instead of in the pump, and I have a #0 plate shoved all the way forward. Balancing out the fact that I still have a stock turbo is the shot of nitrous. That brings egt's right on down compared to without it. It'll make a helluva smoke cloud off the bottle.

TX try this. Get one of those interchangeable screwdriver tips and put in a socket for a 1/4" socket ratchet. This will fit where a stubby is still a little longer than the space with fuel filter in place. If the bolts are too tight put a pair of small vicegrips on them to brake them loose.

Thanks Robert!

works well too, But i got them out a different way the first time on my truck, i did it when the filter was removed, a long screwdriver and some vicegrips, well then again not much different,

Id like to know some more opinions so... Bump bump....

I don't have the same setup, ---but--I have the star wheel full forward, a number six plate with the governor arm on the "nose" of the plate at idle, I moved the plate about .005 forward when I installed it. I have the afc housing full forward. The truck runs like a bear, I have not dynoed it since the timing and new plate, but she pulls real hard. If I am in OD with the TC locked on a long grade and I "lean" into her real hard I can burry the 1500* Pyro.
