Quadzilla or Edge
Quadzilla or Edge
I'm considering one of these modules (Quadzilla XZT+; $360 or PowerEdgeEZ; $494). This will be my first foray into performance modules so any advice/recommendation is appreciated. I don't use my truck for any heavy hauling (load of dirt/lumber from time to time), so generally I'm looking for better fuel economy & MPG. Just started using "Drew's Brew". Truck particulars are below. Looking for something easy-to-do--not too complicated. Thanks! -Dan (San Antonio)

You cant go wrong with EDGE but I have heard good things about the Quad. I have used many many Edge products and have always had great results but I would not be opposed to trying a Quad. You can usually find them in the classifieds for a lot less $$$. They don't were out. But it is nice to have new. You should be fine with ether one.
XZT+ fuels harder down low and you can switch from timing only to timing/fuel and even off. The quad is USB updatable for future tunes, like the high idle feature that quad will release soon. It's a great plug and play box.

I installed an EZ shortly after buying my 2001 and it worked great up to the day I disconnected it to install the XZT+. The peak power will be the same for either box because you can only gain so much power from a non-wire tap box but the XZT+ will provide power over a broader range of rpm as the power comes on earlier. I also like the adjustability of the XZT+ and the fact that it can be updated via USB at anytime.
I am now running the Quadzilla Adrenaline so I have an EZ and an almost new XZT+ (maybe 500 miles on it) sitting on a shelf at home. If you were a little closer to me I would just tell you to come by and test both on your pickup.

Quadzilla XZT+ for all the reasons listed above. I had a Edge EZ for 4 years. The XZT+ does everything the EZ does and much much more for less $$. Sold my used EZ for almost what I paid new for the XZT+.
