So friday i will be getting a valair clutch and have decided that while i have my truck in the shop i might as well put in a set of guages and tap the vp wire so i can really play with my comp. My only worry is reliability. This is my daily driver and I can't really afford breakdowns. From what I have read as long as the vp makes it a few hundred miles and I keep my foot out of it I should be okay right?
ps the lp and vp have been in for less than 20k

youve got the wrong idea. your vp could go out before you pull it out of the shop, or it could last +100k miles or anytime inbetween. You'll never know till you try it. and it could go out tomorrow anyways
a pump tap will hasten the death of a weak vp.
