A-pillar pods

I was wondering if you can get a three gauge a-pillar pod that replaces the factory one completley instead of cobbing it on to the existing factoryone. I have that setup now and I dont care for it at all. It squeaks and rattles and just looks cheap. Any suggestions?

My factory a-pillar is in a box in my garage. The new 3 pod is attached by one screw at the top. It tucks under the weather stripping and looks just fine.

Was this a direct replacement with the clips that hold it to the pillar and if so where did you get it?

NO clips. It is held in place by the shiny screw above the top gage, the dash at the bottom and the weather stripping on the edge.

I did mine almost the same exact way...I used a push pin instead of a screw...just looks a little cleaner

Ditto that.

My pod was actually sold as FULL A-pillar cover and was meant to cover the entire A-pillar. It came with those little christmas tree type push in fasteners to hold it to the stock A-pillar cover. I threw those away, put the stock cover in a box in storage and just used the new piece as a stand alone cover held in place exactly as mentioned above.

eric13,

We stock the 2 and 3 gauge color matched 'Replacement" mounts for the 2003+ trucks. They are molded in the same color and even with the same material suppliers material as the stock Dodge A pillar. They fit and look stock! For the 1994-02 trucks you have to use the pillars thay lay over the stock ones. They are supplied with rachet pins to connect the two pillars, and lots of members have used double stick tape as well.

The pods are great, I have the same triple setup on mine. They dont impair visibility any further since theyre in line with the pillar. You need to -really- be careful about adding to the profile of that pillar with those plastic rain deflectors though. I hit a pedestrian once that was crossing where she shouldnt have been, and right on the other side of that pillar. Thank god she wasnt really hurt since I was going real slow. Its a real nasty blind spot, just an FYI, Id lose the deflectors.

Mine's the exact same way.....except it's held in place with a black drywall screw see gallery. I got mine from Wildcat Diesel (no longer in business). No squeeks or rattles....it looks stock...except for the screw, but it blends in really well.
