Peplacing LP with Holly

OK one last try at this before my Blue come in the mail. Can I just leave the old LP in Place and disconnect the wires to run back to the new Blue near the tank?

I just replaced LP with a blue pump, but ordered the Vulcan Full Flow relocation kit also. Its working great so far. The 1/2" lines that the kit came with are a heck of alot bigger than stock. check out my thread. I'm going to upgrade to the 19psi spring though.

Ramlovingvet,

YES! You can. I did just that. My stock LP is still mounted to the motor, but I build an extended wiring harness to plug in using 14gauge wire back to my Carter P4601HP pump on the frame. No relays. Works great!

New fuel line (6AN) and fittings from the tank to the Carter, then the Carter to the OEM fuel filter completed it.

I did the same thing, but added a relay. The original lift pump pulls around 3 amps and the Holley pulls around six. I was told that the factory fusing would be close on the Holley, but it may work for you.

I bought the pigtail for the body side of the harness from Cummins, integrated it into the harness I built for my Holley, with a relay, and just plugged it in.
This pigtail was for the change they made to the lift pumps, some newer revision and the factory Dodge wiring would no longer plug in, so they made a pigtail to go in between.

I did the same thing as Stamey, only with a Carter 4601, over 100k miles ago.
