PE Comp/PE Drag

I am curious as too what the difference is in the PE Comp and the PE Drag, or are they the same thing. I can't seem to find anywhere that has the PE Drag, on the net anyway. I have seen a few people talk about it and even a few list it as a modification. If there is a drag then where can I find one, how much, and what is the difference?

One more thing, diesel dynamics has what looks like a PE box but claim 150 rwhp, anybody know where they are getting the extra 30 horse? I called on it and they want $800 for it.

With all this talk on fueling boxes and the price for them I want to make sure I get a good one that suits me best. I don't want to spend that kind of money on and edge ez to decide a month or two later that I want the comp, like some of you guys have done and worned about. Once ya start ya can't stop right.

Re:PE Comp/PE Drag

Hello, and welcome. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the difference between the regular PE Comp, and the PE Drag Comp is the fact that the regular comp defuels at 2700 rpm, and the "drag" version keeps fueling untill 3200 or so. I dont know if the drag version fuels more aggressively or not. I had a regular PE Comp, and it worked great. Someone else will have to advise you on the Diesel Dynamics version, as I have no expierence with those.

Cat Cracker.

On level 5x5 the Drag Comp seems to fuel more aggressively all the way through the power band.
The upgrade is worth the money in my opinion.
If you are wanting a Drag Upgrade on a regular Edge Comp.
Contact Edge Products.

www.edgeproductsinc.com

--Justin

I have the UFM Drag version. The power seems to come on sooner and last till 3200ish RPM.

As far as 30 more hp over the Edge, not. I dynoed 404 hp an Edge equiped truck dynoed 389. Looking at your sig line, I should be right in that area as far as HP is concerned... Clutch will be done @ Piers in March then off to the Dyno... What are you seeing for max EGT's? Even with the PDR turbo, I can attain 1500 at will.. dont spend much time there though - dont wanna pour my pistons out through the drain plug...

Re:PE Comp/PE Drag

It is my understanding from lots of research that the only difference between the regular comp and drag comp is the extended fueling, beyond 2700rpms or so...

And the extended fueling is only on the 5x5 setting...all of the other settings still defuel...

I've talked to Aaron at Edge Products and he said that drag comp on 5x5 is different program than a standard comp box on 5x5. It fuels earlier and goes up to 3200 rpms. All other setting (levels 1-4) are the same.

Charles

Re:PE Comp/PE Drag

atoughram, I have not exceeded 1500. With 4.10 gears I run through the RPM's to quick. I am never in any gear for more than a few seconds when drag racing. In fifth I run out of RPM's and defeul before the traps. This might all change though, I went up two tire sizes to get me over 100MPH, that still will only leave me in 5th for about five seconds.

Also you mention clutch, My stock clutch worked fine for over five thousand miles, but I did not have the drag version yet. When I put in the SBC the stock clutch still looked new. I was and still am shocked at that.
