overhead console temperature

Does anybody know specifically where the temperature probe is for the overhead console? It's been amusing watching the overhead read a consistant -40*F when it's been at least 20F above zero. I figure it's time to fix that.

The sensor on your '01 is located on the back side of the grill. A -40* reading means the sensor circuit is open. Measure the resistance to find out where it's open. The resistance should be between 336k ohms (-40F) and 2.488k ohms (131F).

That makes sense now because I've had the hood off before, and more than likely fubarred something in the wiring. I was rebuilding the engine in my dad's shop in the back where it isn't cemented so pulling the engine with a cherry picker was not an option, and thus had to pull the hood and use a loader tractor to pull it up and out. Schweet gives me something else to fix now
