Well I bit the bullit,and have a adrenaline on the way!! Yea ! cant wait till the ups man comes!! I just hope i dont have any dreaded surges!i sold my pmax3 that I had stacked with my smarty.What tune is a good one for lotsa power,but still a good every day driver??
i have the comp tune on my truck i like it alot, if i could get rid of the surging and the burst at 2000 rpm i would be more than happy, but download some differant ones and see what you like, everyone is differant and will like differant tunes. good luck hope all goes well.
I downloaded the 1015 tunes and I use level 6 with no issues. Any higher, and I get a ton of black smoke. I peak at 22 psi boost since I haven't played with the wastegate yet but my truck has a lot more get up and go with the Adreneline.

The surging, is this only at light throttle?
The burst at 2000 rpm, is this also at light throttle or when you are hard on it? Is it really a burst or is it just starting to fuel really hard at too light of throttle?

I am about to start a thread that sort of goes inline with what you are asking.
Based on what I can tell the terrible "surging and bucking" seems always associated with a Comp type tune and on the higher power levels 7-10.
I will have a poll up because I have to know if I am chasing my tail. I don't think you are going to be able to have instant on throttle fueling and be able to drive around on PL10 with 200+ hp sticks and it be buttery smooth?
I have privately polled a few guys and so far it is always a more extreme tune and always in these high power levels at really light throttle. I have not found someone with this problem with a 1000 or 2000 tune yet.

I would bet there are so many variables involved. Before my trans went out, I had bad surging issues. Since the trans build up, I very rarely if at all get any surging. I think the stock or worn torque converter and timing/fueling may be some of the cause. At least for the auto guys.

Open the Pulse and on the circuit board where the buttons contact it take some scotch brite and scuff those contact area's up. It worked for me and since i've done it i haven't had any problems. This was recommended by Quad.
With a smarty,and adrenaline .I am only getting 37 pounds of boost.What are you guys getting??I wonder if my vp is going south?? it smokes white at startup,where as 6 months ago it never smoked white,unless it was really cold
